
Nested in the lap of Western Odisha on the bank of The River Mahanadi, Boudh Panchayat College has taken long strides to reach its destination, a holistic approach to life through meaningful education. The college owes its origin from dt.31.07.1978 when it was founded by former Cabinet Minister of Odisha, the Magnanimous son of the soil of Boudh, Late Natabara Pradhan amid a colourful function graced by a band of luminaries including the then Chief Minister of Odisha Honourable Late Nilamani Routroy. Since then the college started making headway from its infancy and began to shed lustre in the academic horizon with Intermediate in Arts, Science and Commerce, which in 1983 turned to be present +2 Arts, Science and Commerce having affiliation to CHSE, Odisha. Subsequently Degree in Arts, Science and Commerce, have been added to the curriculum with Honours in Arts (10 subjects) and Science (6 subjects) under Sambalpur University. The college has 15 teaching departments and has a sanctioned strength of 37 faculty members with a present sanctioned strength of as many as 1824 students. The college was included in the 12 (B) Scheme under the UGC Act for different financial assistance from time to time. The college has earned the distinction of being accredited in 2009 and 2019 (2nd cycle - "B" Grade) by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC), an Autonomous Body under UGC(University Grant Commission).
The college is housed in three blocks. Its campus is christened BUDDHA VIHAR with an imposing statue of Lord Buddha at the front installed in 1980, two years prior to the construction of the college building under the patronage of its founder. The steady growth of the college records the relentless services rendered by its generous patrons, staff members and students at different periods of time. The college has created history for imparting high standard of teaching to its pupils by a galaxy of highly qualified and experienced teachers with the mission of achieving academic excellence.
